I was up here with Jerry, Jason, Adam, and my wifey Lily last night watching Jerry eat some kind of beef, veggies, chocolate pudding and apple sauce which he followed up with more water than someone his size should be able to hold! This was one thirsty guy!!
So, Lily and I just came up here around 2pm and Gus and Manisha are here. Jerry is talking up a storm today. Manisha has to tell him to stop because he gets going and gets winded. He remembers everything! He is talking about the school and just talking and talking and talking!!! He is so smart and always knows what is going on in the world.
Now, everytime he wakes up he will ask about this room and why it is different. We asks about his orientation in the room and why things look different. This week has probably been very disorienting.
When he started giving me life advice I get very excited and know he is in there and his mind is sharp. This guy knows how to tell it straight. We keep telling him not to worry about us, but that is just what he does.
Day by day he is improving with leaps and bounds. I feel so much relief each day when I see him remembering.
Ok, funny stuff...so he was asking Lily (my Mexican wifey) what they call those guys in Mexico causing all of the problems. She offered up several names like Groupos Organizado de Deliquencia or something like that....after she really thought about it and Manisha was trying to Google to figure out what he was asking we still did not know. After like 10 minutes Jerry blurts out the answer like he has been testing us!! He says, "The Cartel"!!!! We are over here laughing so hard because he is messing with us!! Heeeee's back!
Manisha says the nurse was talking to him in Portugese and right now he is speaking to Lily in Spanish - seriously! Amazing turn around Jerry!!!!!!!
He is winded again...this is probably a lot of excitement. We will go soon and let him rest.
Keep posting everyone and put your stories up here. Best - Sean

I'm sorry I wasn't able to come over this weekend. Tomorrow I wil go see him in the morning, I'm just wondering at what time do they allow us to visit him. Probably like ICU, 8-6 or something.

Hi everyone, we went by to visit with Jerry this afternoon. We were pleased to see his progress, we talked a little, we encouraged him to rest as much as possible, to breathe as deep as he comfortably could... he was still getting oxygen due to some difficulty breathing last night.
He said he liked this room and bed better, he asked about the computer he was facing. Mainsha answered his questions. She is such a faithful and unselfish friend, she is very caring about about her mentor.
I went by the house later in the afternoon, before it got dark, everything is good, just a little frightened bunny in the back of the house.
He didn't want to eat the food that was there... he want Chinese food instead. We prayed for him and encouraged him before we left.

This is the message from Jerry to his sister-in-law Joan and entire west coast family Bob, Meaux, Pattic, Coco.
He said, thank you for the beautiful flower bouquet that we received for him today. Also thank you for keeping him in thoughts and prayers. He wanted to let you all know that he is doing better now. It is going to take some time but he will recover.
At present he cannot write a note but he said he soon will as soon as he gets better.

Jerry is doing better day by day.
He likes to talk but as Sean marked earlier he gets winded.
Adam is going to be there until 9-10 in morning. I would be there until 2-3 and will be back later in the evening. If you are coming during this time then please check with the nurse before seeing Jerry.
Jerry is people person. He likes to talk but he gets tired soon conversing. So please look for the signs and cut the conversation short and tell him to take rest.
He is putting to much stress in trying to remember things. I am sure it is going to be all okay - its just the matter of time.
Tomorrow if you plan to visit please come around 2:00 pm as I will be leaving around 2-3 and will come back later in the evening. I do not want Jerry to be by himself since he would need some help.

The kidney specialist came in an saw Jerry this morning. I asked him about his kidneys and he said that they are not ok, they are working at around 15%, and won't be surprised if he has to be on dialysis. Right more they are just trying to keep him out of the ICU.
Right now he's asleep and I haven't bothered him or Adam, letting them both rest.
Keep Jerry in your prayers.

Doctor came in and said that he will need physical therapy here in the next few days. Looks like his pneumonia is wanting to come back. They want to put him on antibiotics and the lung specialist says that his lungs are doing ok with the exception oh the fluid in the from the pneumonia.

John Morgan, Here. I plan on coming to see Jerry (Tuesday) afternoon 1pm to 3pm. Hopefully that will give some of our constant care givers a little break.
I'm glad he is doing so much better. I promise not to tickle his feet and let him rest when he needs to. He's in room H408 now, correct? Thanks.

Manisha,
Please let me know if you want me to take one of Jerry's Monday/Wednesday Cisco I classes for you. You've spent so much time at the hospital caring for Jerry, you're probably not getting the rest you need.
Just let me know whenever you need a break from this class.
Bless you for all that you are doing for Jerry.
John Morgan

Stopped by to visit Jerry for a few minutes today (Monday) and he recognized me and was able to speak intelligibly which was huge improvement over my previous visit on Friday.
I decided to keep my visit short as there were several others already there (including Manisha as always), Jerry was still weak, and I was interrupting Jerry's lunch.
I did say a short prayer with Jerry, but got a little choked up during the prayer, so I hope that didn't hurt Jerry's mood.
I was again impressed by those staying by his side to be his advocates, but please reach out to the rest of us so we can give you a break and cover less popular times of the day.

Thank you Mr Morgan. I sure will let you know. I am with Jerry right now.
I have to be on campus from 6 to 8pm Cisco 2 lab. I will leave at around 2:30pm and will come back later tonight. If you can come by for sometime it would be nice. If so, I will let Jerry know that you care coming before I leave.
He is resting right now. He has been complaing about having weakness which I am sure it is going to away and his kidney condition is being monitored. It is going to fluctuate little bit. Just praying that it gets better and that he does not have to go for dialysis.

Rod, I know what you mean. When I saw Jerry on Saturday morning and he was talking to me I was chocking up and in tears while talking to him. I told him his much we love him and how much he means to us.
Hopefully he will get his appetite back soon. He should be getting ensure to get energy too.
